I had this marked in my google reader for so long – and it DID NOT disappoint! This was delicious! I can’t wait to make it for Steeler and Pen’s Games next year- So easy , and it uses the crockpot. Perfect! I put the sandwiches under the broiler with provolone cheese, and then slathered them in Beano’s Horseradish Sauce. I got this from The Good Wife’s blog , and added my own special touches – it was just too good for words!
1 cup jarred banana peppers with juice
3 – 5 lb beef roast (I usually just get whatever cut is on sale that week)
1 clove garlic diced
1/4 vidalia onion diced
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 tablespoons dried oregano
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried celery flakes
~Combine all in crock pot and cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
~Shred meat with forks 30 to 45 minutes before serving, stirring to combine all the flavors.
